My Favourite Mixed Fresh Herb Collection

As I travel around the best plant nurseries and growers gardens I have selected my favourite fresh herbs for you to enjoy in your gardens. These are a few unusual varieties but I am sure you will agree they are the best in show (the RHS agree too)

Sold  ALL 8 varieties listed below, in 9cm pots, hand wrapped in hessian bags.

  • Icterina Sage, perennial green and gold sage perfect for salad, stuffings, pickles and cheese
  • Black Peppermint, highly aromatic perennial with dark purple stems,ans small mauve flowers, perfect for drinks and confectionery.
  • Chervil,an attractive fern like plant with small white flowers and very fragrant leaves, used in french cookery, adds floavour to meats vegetables and good with eggs and cheese.(thought to have skin cleansing properties)
  • Dill, used in sauces to flavour fish and meats and any green and raw vegetable salads. (used as gripewater to cure stomagh upsets, gas, hiccups and good for inducing sleep)
  • Applemint, excellent flavour, used with potatoes, peas, carrots, green beans, salads and sumer drinks. (Very attactive to butterflies and Bees)
  • Curled Parsley,a biennial herb with curly leaves, used in green salads, soups, sauces, vegetables, (use as a diuretic or for relief of rheumatism)
  • Orange Scented Thyme, highly aromatic orange/ balsam scented leaves and pale pink flowers, gives a fruity taste to all cooking, good for pot-pourri.
  • Bronze Fennel, Bronze feathery leaves with yellow flowers, very striking in the border, aniseed  smell and taste, leaves used with fish, pork, beef and vegetables. Seeds  used in fruit pies, Aids slimmers with digestion of fatty foods, seeds in sterilised water make an eye wash. 

Plant in Well drained, sheltered, sunny spot

Protect from Pests and dieases

Ideal for tubs and pots

Water well before planting until established

Harvest regularly

 

 Plant in warm sunny location in well drained spoil, (add grit to soil or sharp sand if its too heavy)

Protect from slugs with horticultural grit, beer traps or egg shells.
